What to Expect
Each procedure is completely customized to help patients achieve their specific, desired results. A rhinoplasty is performed in our state-of-the-art surgery center under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. Patients will need someone to drive them home after surgery and care for them during the first 24 hours. Your surgeon will use one of two techniques when performing nose surgery. In a closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made within the nostrils. In an open rhinoplasty, the incision is made across the columella, the tissue between the nostrils. With both methods, he gently lifts the soft tissues covering the nose, then sculpts the bone and cartilage to the desired shape. Any additional cartilage needed to support the nose is often taken from the septum or the ear in some revision procedures. If patients have a deviated septum, Dr. Petroff or Dr. Scott will straighten the septum and the inner structures of their nose to improve breathing. Then the tissues will be redraped and stitched closed. If patients desire nostril reshaping, this will be done in the final stage of a rhinoplasty.

If I could give Dr. Petroff 10 stars I would. He is a fantastic and extremely talented plastic surgeon for the face. I received a revision rhinoplasty through Petroff. My driest rhinoplasty was with an entirely different surgeon almost two years ago. My previous surgeon was too conservative and did not provide the results I’d asked for. After consulting with several surgeons and researching, The Petroff center was by far the most impressive. If you are seeking a rhinoplasty or revision, look no further, because he will make your dreams come true. Not only is his technic with the nose fantastic, all of his patients have similar results showing his technique is consistent. Outside of Dr. Petroffs technical skills and attention to detail/your needs, his medical staff was fantastic. From the scheduling, pre op and post op care, I was thoroughly communicated with via email and phone calls. His team also offers a vitamin treatment to prep for your procedure making your body stronger for the healing process. The sedation process for the procedure was great and the nurses were holding my hands/arms for comfort since I was nervous. After coming out of surgery, I had a bouquet of roses with an adorable poem from the staff. I can’t believe I went somewhere else before Petroff, I wish I would have gone to him sooner. Regardless, I have no regrets and admire his talent, as well as his staffs talents.
Ever since I was a young girl, I had always been unhappy and insecure with nose. I didn’t like it’s shape and always knew I had a deviated septum which made it difficult for me to breath at the same time. I had always dreamed of a rhinoplasty and I am so glad that I did my research and put my faith in Dr. Petroff and his team. Staff at Petroff Center are very kind and ,professional. Dr Petroff answers all you're questions ,very calm and comforting demeanor and knowledgable..This place is great. I am age 54 and researched Dr Petroff many years ago and hoped one day to have Dr Petroff do my rhinoplasty , finally did it and I am very satisfied and happy with my new nose, pain was very minimal. Anticipated Results
Nasal packing is rarely necessary following a rhinoplasty. Patients can expect some bruising, soreness, and swelling for a week or so after their surgery. A splint may be used for a few days to assist the nose in maintaining its new shape. If patients experience pain after their nose surgery, we can provide medication. Most patients are able to return to school or work 7 - 10 days following their nose surgery, but it may take months before they see the final result of their rhinoplasty. Strenuous exercise and contact sports should be avoided for up to 6 weeks, and patients should not sleep on their side for a week or two. Given the nature of the operation, the results should be long term and remain throughout the patient's lifetime.
