What Is a Chemical Peel?
Good for all skin types, chemical peels provide an adjustable-depth, skin-rejuvenating option, which will effectively reduce the depth of surface lines, improve skin texture, fade pigmentation from sun damage, and help clear acne/blemished skin. Chemical peels work by breaking down and removing the top damaged layer of skin in order to allow a healthier layer to take its place. A consultation with our plastic surgeon, Dr. Mark A. Petroff, or our licensed esthetician can help determine the correct chemical peel for each patient. Patients can call Premier Laser + Skin in Lake Oswego, OR to learn more.

Are Chemical Peels Right for Me?
The ideal candidates for a chemical peel are individuals looking to enhance the overall health and appearance of their skin. This treatment is particularly beneficial for those who are concerned about uneven skin tone, dullness, or a lackluster complexion. It is also effective for addressing specific issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and rough or uneven skin texture. Chemical peels are an excellent option for those seeking noticeable, long-term improvements in their skin's radiance and clarity. If you desire fresher, healthier, and more youthful-looking skin, a chemical peel may be the right choice for you.
How Do Chemical Peels Work?
Chemical peels begin by applying a specialized solution to the skin that gently exfoliates and removes its outermost layers. This process stimulates cell turnover and encourages the growth of new, healthy skin. Depending on the peel's strength, it can target surface issues like dullness and uneven tone or penetrate deeper to address fine lines, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. As the treated skin sheds over the following days, a smoother, brighter, and more rejuvenated complexion emerges. After the treatment, our team will recommend following a skin care routine to protect the skin and enhance the effects of the peel. Additional treatments may be scheduled for maximum results.

Appreciate all the services ... from facials, to brows, to peels to botox and fillers!! This is the place for perfection!!
I had a very nice visit with Carla to discuss chemical peels. There was on offer a special and the pricing was attractive. I was completely ready to go ahead and book my first appt. I had checked to see if The Petroff Center still took Care Credit, they did and I asked in the lady at the reception when I arrived again.. she said yes, she also knew that I was considering chemical peels only at that time. After I booked my appt. Carla took my Care Credit card for it to be processed for the series of peels.. she came back a few minutes later looking a bit embarrassed and informed me that they do not take that card for chemical peels.. it costs them to much money......Dentists, eye doctors, vets.. they don't have minimums.. I felt like I was being dismissed and not worth their efforts.. please note I had also discussed lower eye surgery in the near future with Carla... I went to the car and thought about the experience and feel I would be far better off somewhere else, even if the peels cost more.
Melissa was awesome! Very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Melissa for any skin care treatment and specifically face peels. I had very good results. I will be back.
After reading some of the negative reviews regarding ultherapy I was very hesitant to do it and almost didn't. I have had a fraxel treatment in the past and had other laser treatments without harmful effects so I decided to cross my fingers and try it. I'm so glad I did. It has been 3 weeks and it looks like I had a lower face lift without going through surgery! My neck is so much tighter - the sagging skin under the chin is almost gone. The labial folds around my mouth are so diminished I may not even get the juvederm filler! The procedure under the neck was a little painful. I should have taken 2 pain pills before I had it done but only took one. However the pain lasts only a short time and the results were well worth it - far better than surgery! My cost was a package special that included juvederm, botox and a couple of chemical peels. I think the procedure without the extras was about $4000. However, if you're looking for a little tightening I would fully recommend this.

What Should I Expect After a Chemical Peel?
After a chemical peel, you can expect your skin to go through a healing process that varies depending on the depth of the peel. Mild redness, sensitivity, and a tight feeling are common in the first few days. For lighter peels, slight flaking or peeling may occur within 3–7 days, while deeper peels may result in more noticeable peeling and take longer to heal. Your skin may also temporarily look darker or uneven before revealing a smoother, brighter, and more even-toned complexion. It’s essential to follow aftercare instructions, such as moisturizing, avoiding sun exposure, and applying sunscreen, to support the healing process and protect your new skin. Patients can typically expect to see positive chemical peel results for 3 - 6 months following their treatment before they are recommended to return for another session.
