About Voluma XC
Voluma XC by Juvéderm is a smooth-gel dermal filler that once injected into the face, restores volume and fullness in large areas such as the cheeks. With Voluma XC, our Lake Oswego, OR patients can enjoy fuller, sharper features as well as a more youthful look. This nonsurgical, minimally invasive treatment allows Dr. Mark A. Petroff and Dr. Brian Scott to present an effect similar to cheek augmentation typically achieved by implants. Thanks to Voluma’s advanced, durable formula, patients can enjoy a more youthful appearance for up to 2 years. And since Voluma XC is made of substances that are naturally found in the body, it’s gradually and safely absorbed into the skin over time. Best Candidates
Voluma XC can be a very beneficial injection when delivered to the appropriate candidates. Patients who will see the best results will have:
- Thinning facial skin in need of contouring
- Moderate to severe wrinkles in the facial skin
- Overall healthy skin free of sunburns or any infections
- A desire for a nonsurgical procedure
- A desire for natural-looking, long-lasting results
What to Expect
Before Voluma XC injections, a numbing cream may be applied to the injection sites to minimize the discomfort, but most patients feel very little pain during their treatment. A surgeon or an esthetician will carefully inject Voluma XC into the needed areas of the face in as little as 10 minutes. Patients may return to their normal activities as soon as they feel able, with minimal swelling and tenderness. Patients will see some results right away, but it usually takes about 7 days before the filler settles into the cheeks for the final results. The effects of Voluma XC last up to 2 years, and patients should talk to our plastic surgeon about when to reschedule for continued effects.

My first encounter with Petroff Center was in 2011. As Mother of the Bride I wanted to look my best. Fast forward to 2024, I desired to have my face and neck improved for a more youthful appearance. Laser hair removal- My experience with Kasey was great. She is so nice and professional. It is a very clean and friendly environment. I have tried laser hair removal at a different esthetics spa and after 1 treatment at Petroff it was already so much more effective than the other spa. Anticipated Results
After Voluma XC, a patient may experience swelling, tenderness, firmness, or the appearance of lumps/bumps in the treatment site. Patients can expect the side effects to last 2 – 4 weeks. For the first 24 hours after a treatment, the patient should refrain from strenuous exercise and avoid excessive exposure to the sun. Some patients may choose to receive a touch-up treatment about 1 month after the initial treatment to obtain desired goals. Results should last for 2 years – after then, additional treatments may be needed.
