About BroadBand Light Therapy
Broadband light (BBL) treatment uses regenerating technology to enhance the aesthetics of your skin and helps it to look more youthful and smoother. It works by employing therapeutic light energy that mildly heats the skin and promotes collagen production. Individuals with a wide variety of skin conditions can benefit from BBL, because it works to correct many forms of pigmentation, including sun damage, unwanted freckles, rosacea, and broken blood vessels. It can also help create a more even and smooth skin texture to produce fresh, glowing skin. Additionally, BBL can be added to other aesthetic treatments to meet your needs and goals. Our practice, Petroff Center Plastic Surgery and Medi-Spa in Lake Oswego, OR, provides BBL at the recommendation of plastic surgeon Dr. Mark A. Petroff as an innovative therapy proven to help restore our patients' confidence in their skin.
"I recently had a BBL treatment with Whitney. What a wonderful experience. First of all, the environment was immaculate. I didn’t feel any anxiety concerning the COVID-19 issues. Secondly, this treatment made my complexion look ten years younger. It is absolutely amazing. This is my second, 3 treatment, round of BBL. I came back to make my complexion look even better. The only negative on BBL is it is a little uncomfortable while you are being zapped. It is tolerable."- P.M. / Solutionreach / Jun 18, 2020
"A Miracle Worker - Whitney, my esthetician at The Petroff Center has performed several procedures to my skin in the last few months. I recently had BBL (3 appointments) as a way to improve the overall appearance of my complexion. Not only did it It help with the effects of sun exposure and aging but it left my skin radiant. Besides BBL, I recently had a HydroPlus facial as the frosting on the cake. She knows her stuff, is professional and personable."- P.M. / Solutionreach / Mar 11, 2020
BBL Ideal Candidates
An ideal candidate for BBL is anyone suffering from hyperpigmentation or other irregularities in their skin. This could be due to acne, sun damage, damaged capillaries, or rosacea. BBL also helps to make the skin appear younger by stimulating the regeneration of collagen. Depending on the type of modality and filter used, BBL can be used as both a treatment and/or maintenance regimen for a wide array of skin conditions. Before receiving treatment, our estheticians will explain how BBL technology can help achieve your desired results.
What to Expect with BBL
After developing the appropriate treatment plan, the settings of the BBL device will be adjusted to fit the needs of your skin. Before beginning the procedure, your eyes will be covered to protect them from the light of the laser. Our estheticians will then gently pass the laser over your skin while concentrating on the problem areas. The amount of time needed for the treatment will vary depending on the skin condition and if any other treatments were added to the BBL session. Typically, BBL procedures can be completed in about an hour or less.
BBL Anticipated Results
Following the treatment, a soothing cream will be applied to your skin. Our estheticians will also provide post-treatment care instructions and may advise limited sun exposure. Otherwise, patients are typically able to resume their normal daily routine. Results from BBL can be seen within 2 – 6 weeks following the initial treatment, but optimal results will typically be seen after multiple BBL treatments. Our estheticians will provide the recommended number of treatments to receive your desired outcome. Overall, you should see clearer, brighter skin with fewer texture and complexion issues present.
